AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Police say a drug deal apparently led to a man being fatally shot Tuesday at The Domain in North Austin.

Officials say they received a 9-1-1 call of shots fired in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods at 3210 Kramer Lane around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When police and EMS arrived on the scene, they found 19-year old Adam Shorter with critical injuries from a gunshot wound. Shorter was transported to Round Rock Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 6:23 p.m.

Based on witness interviews, homicide detectives believe that the shooting occurred during an illegal drug transaction. Two black male suspects fled the scene after the shooting. The first black male suspect was described as medium build, early 20s, orange t-shirt, blue jeans, with short afro and a fade on the sides. The second black male was described as slightly older (late 20s) with a belly and braided, pulled back hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Saturn.

Investigators do not believe there is threat to the public in regards to this incident.
